Deadlines & Schedules

Judging for your analysis results will be held on April 27, 2017. The judging event will begin with a poster session from which finalists will be selected. The finalists will then make a 10 minute presentation to the full panel of judges. Winners will be announced after presentations by the finalists.

Set-up for the Poster Session will begin at 10:00 am (Willis Library, Room 250H)

Judging will begin at 10:30 am.

Final Round Presentations will begin at 1:00 pm.

Lunch will be provided between the poster session and the Final Round presentations.


Requirements for Posters & Presentations

Each team must have at least one representative present during the poster session to describe their team's analysis to the judges. The entire poster size must be 36(h)" x 48(w)".

Posters should include:

  • Key insights related to the business questions posed
  • Summary of technical approach
  • Clear impact statement about how the analytic insights could make a business difference
  • Indication of any next steps needed to confirm and/or expand analysis

Poster and discussions with the judges will be evaluated based on:

  • Technical quality - are the appropriate analytical methods used and are the insights derived correct?
  • Design - are the posters visually appealing and easy to understand, are the presentations polished, concise and engaging?
  • Potential - do the analysis results have the potential to make a (business) difference?
  • Originality - is the project unique and/or innovative?

Teams may have separate materials to present to the judges during the poster session to highlight their analysis.

Final Round Presentations will begin at 1:00 pm.

Presentations by the finalists should include a PowerPoint presentation. Teams are free to have more than one team member participate in the Final Round presentations. However, the entire presentation will be limited to 10 minutes (strictly enforced). Final Round presentations will be judged by the same criteria as the poster sessions.
